Hapik safety rules

GUEST RESPONSIBILITY

DISCLAIMER: Everyone that enters the HAPIK climbing center must have completed and signed a valid HAPIK waiver. Those under 18 must have it signed/completed by their parent, legal guardian, or someone with power of attorney. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for their children in the facility.

The following general information applies at the Hapik center. 

  • Safety signs are posted throughout the center. Our Team Members will gladly remind you of these rules should you happen to ignore them.
  • Team Members are stationed throughout the center to enforce safety rules. They will also assist in the event of an injury.
  • Team Members are trained on assist and rescue procedures. 
  • Routine safety inspections are conducted to ensure that all equipment is in proper condition.

ALWAYS

  • Always follow all center rules and Team Member instructions.
  • Always attend a safety briefing before climbing. 
  • Always ensure you meet the weight requirements: 35lbs - 330lbs.
  • Always raise your hand or call for a Team Member when you need help.
  • Always tie back and secure long hair. 
  • Always remove loose items, including jewelry, watches, scarves & drawstrings.
  • Always wear closed toe shoes. 
  • Always be aware of those around you. It is your responsibility to avoid others.
  • Always make sure you are in good health without restrictions. 

DO NOT 

  • Do not climb unless you are wearing a harness which has been put on by a Team Member.
  • Do not climb if a Team Member is not present.
  • Do not carry loose objects in your pockets while climbing. 
  • Do not rough house or horseplay in the climbing area.
  • Do not climb under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Do not participate if you have any injuries to back, neck, shoulder, arm, or broken bones or if you have heart problems.
  • Do not carry guns, knives, sharp objects, or weapons of any kind.

CLIMBING WALLS RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always clip in before climbing.
  • Always start with a 6ft descent test (practice jump) on your first climb. Repeat it from low levels until you are comfortable, before proceeding to a higher level.
  • Always check your landing mat below before you descend. 
  • Always sit back in your harness and walk your feet down the wall, when you are ready to come down. Use feet/hands to protect from the wall.
  • Be strong on your legs when you reach the ground. 

DO NOT

  • Do not climb until you have attended the safety briefing.
  • Do not stand in or run through landing zones.
  • Do not climb directly above or below another guest.
  • Do not hold on to the wall when coming down. Let go of the wall and sit back in your harness.
  • Do not turn around when descending, always look at the wall.
  • Do not pull on the climbing rope while climbing. 
  • Do not hang upside down.

ROPES COURSE RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always climb 3 walls to the top before using the ropes course. 
  • Always wait for a Team Member to clip and unclip your belay.
  • Always 1 climber max on an obstacle at a time.  
  • Always grab the rope at the end of the zip line. 

DO NOT

  • Do not use the ropes course if you are under 4ft (1.2m) high.
  • Do not access the ropes course if the gate is closed. 
  • Do not zipline on other obstacles than ziplines. 
  • Do not hold the overhead roller system and the cable. Use your sling to balance if needed. 
  • Do not hang upside down.
  • Do not carry your phone or any loose objects.

CUBES RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always clip in before climbing.
  • Always tidy cubes once you are finished climbing. 

DO NOT

  • Do not hang upside down.
  • Do not pull on the climbing rope while climbing. 
  • Do not throw cubes at other guests.

JUMP RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always clip in before climbing.
  • Always be aware of the column on your way down. Protect yourself using your arms.
  • Always make sure your climbing line is above your head. 

DO NOT

  • Do not climb if you are under 4ft (1.2m) high.
  • Do not grab or pull onto the climbing rope while climbing. 
  • Do not swing or flip from the diving board, just step down. 
  • Do not climb higher than the diving board.

BAMBOU RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always clip in before climbing.
  • Always use your arms to protect yourself on the way down. Be aware of columns around you. 

DO NOT

  • Do not grab or pull onto the climbing rope while climbing. 
  • Do not jump or swing off any columns. When you want to finish, turn to the center and step into the middle.

VERTICAL DROP SLIDE RULES

ALWAYS

  • Always use a helmet and a jump suit. 
  • Always remove your shoes and wear socks. 
  • Always stay straight before letting go. 
  • Always 1 climber max on the slide at a time.   
  • Always make sure there is an adult to operate the slide. 

DO NOT

  • Do not use the slide if you are under 4ft (1.2m) high.
  • Do not hang upside down or try to flip.
